Cigar Search

Does anyone know where I can get these cigars? They are Bances Cazadores. The link above is a distributor I found that has them, but they are being discontinued. I've looked for ten years and FINALLY found them this week. Guess I like cheap cigars that nobody likes. Just got a box of 25 that I guess will have to do me a while.

What this country needs is a good 5cent cigar.

Please post and let me know!!!!!

George Allen: What's The REAL Story?

Senator George Allen's public gaff is still grabbing headlines around the country. His downhome/ aw shucks commentary on his political opponents staffer has been explained as nothing more then a personal made-up woopsie, to a word that is racist slur, to meaning "shit-head" in Spanish. All of these explanations don't matter, or shouldn't anyway.

I want to know the REAL story. Why is our attention being diverted to this? Is it because Senator Allen doesn't want us to talk about his owning stock in http://www.barrlabs.com/, the company that makes the "Plan B" contraceptive pill that is headed for over-the-counter approval from the FDA? Doesn't it show that Senator Allen is a HYPOCRITE for his conservative stance on Abortion and still making money off this pill that conservatives consider to be nothing more then an abortion pill? Don't let your attention be diverted!!!!!!!
Wake up people!!!! Ask Questions!!!!

"V For Vendetta"

There are a few of you who know how much I enjoy movies. I'm a huge fan of classics such as "Casablanca" "The Maltese Falcon" "Double Indemnity" and "Gone With The Wind". These movies are from an era that will never be again. Well written, acted, and filmed and still relevant today as they were fifty years ago.

There's a film out on DVD that every American should see. In particular, every gay American. "V For Vendetta" was released last week and I've finally had a chance to see it. I had wanted to go to the theater to see it, but working graveyard, I never had the chance. It was a breath of fresh air in the George W. Bush Era.

First off, most of you don't know this, but I was a comic book collector for a long time. I stopped in about 1992 because the new comics coming out were poorly written and you had to buy a lot of different titles to read the entire story arc. I refused to buy into that marketing ploy.

I have around 30,000 comics stored. Yeah, I know, it's a pain in the ass to store, but I've got it covered.

The original "V For Vendetta" was an Alan Moore creation in the mid eighties that I actually dug out and reread before I bought the movie. I'd forgotten how good it was!!!!

Published during the Eighties and during the height of the Reagan and the Thatcher Dynasties, it was a cautionary tale of government intrusion in everyone's lives. At the time everyone thought ideas like the ones portrayed in the comics were basically silly and overblown, and that the novel "1984" was just a panaroid wacko leftist tale that would never happen.

Now flash forward 20 years.

It doesn't seem so outlandish now.

Filled with images of government agents busting down doors in the middle of the night and making people who question the government "disappear" seems to be a real possibility and more then likely already started. The Government using the media to manipulate thought and action is reminiscent of the "War On Terror"."V For Vendetta" is a cautionary tale that should be seen!!!!

I'm actually surprised that there wasn't a more rabid response from the Wacky/nutjob Right on this great film. And yet another example why Natalie Portman is one of the finest actresses working today.

Like the slogan for the film says"People Should Not Be Afraid Of Their Governments. Governments Should Be Afraid Of Their People".

SEE IT!!!!!

George Allen SURPRISE!

Well............let's here it for "Traditional American Values" in action. Click the link above to find out why.

Seems that Mr. Allen makes money off the "Plan B" Contraceptive drug.

Let's see how long it takes to dump his stock and give the money to Jerry Falwell and beg forgiveness.

Daily Thoughts

THREE THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: 1. COWS 2. THE CONSTITUTION 3. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. COWS Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our Government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give them all a cow.

2. THE CONSTITUTION They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys,
it's worked for over 200 years and we're not using it anymore.

3. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse........You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians -- it creates a hostile work environment.
